After more than two years on hiatus, Nerd Nite Tokyo returns to in-person events!

You can also find our event information on Facebook and Meetup; check the sidebar for all of our social media and mailing lists.

Every month, we gather 3 smart speakers and a curious crowd. For our improbable return, we are going to find out if cross-cultural comedy can work, if sustainable sourcing is possible, and if AI can make ads better (i.e. worse).
Drinks (both alcoholic and non) and snacks will be available. Eat, drink and be square-y! Kids are also welcome at Nerd Nite.

Speakers:

  1. BJ Fox — Crossing the Cultural Comedy Divide

  2. Nithin Coca — Palm Oil, Coconuts, and Why Sustainable Sourcing is so Challenging

  3. Melvin Charles DY — The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything (in Search Ads)

When: September 30 (Friday), doors open 19:30, start 20:00

Where: World Peace Theatre in Kawasaki (Google Maps)

Price: ¥1000

COVID-19 safety policy: Please properly wear a mask at all times. See the bottom for details.

COVID-19 Safety Policy

To help protect the health of all attendees and the general public, we ask you to please wear a mask that fully covers your nose and mouth at all times, unless you are drinking or eating.

In particular, please make sure that you use your mask any time that you are speaking, unless you are currently on stage.

We recommend the use of surgical masks made from ‘non-woven’ material, as well as masks that meet the N95, KN95, or DS2 standards. If you do not have a mask, we can provide one to you at the door.

We also strongly encourage you to have received at least three doses of a government-approved COVID-19 vaccine, but we will not require proof of vaccination.

If you refuse to wear a mask, or refuse to wear a mask in an effective manner, you will be asked to leave the event. If you have a legitimate medical condition which prevents you from wearing a mask, please let us know.
