It’s that time of the month again where we bring a couple of smart and passionate speakers, plop them down in front of an inquisitive audience, and let both ideas and drinks flow at Study Abroad Pub near Shinjuku.
In keeping with the theme of our tenth anniversary, we are bringing one new speaker and another who has presented with us before. On the slate, a feast for both eyes and ears!
First, we get a look at how our screens work on the fundamental level. Our first speaker, Dr. Nicki Fairbairn explains how she uses lasers (lasers!) to discover the quantum workings of Organic Light-Emitting Materials – the stuff OLEDs are made of.
Then, we get to hear about what it takes to throw a rock concert for the common good. Stéfan Le Dû is back, this time to share how you too can bring people together and rock out to support environmental and other causes. Deep bass without deep pockets!
Doors open at 7 PM. Come early and get your drinks and socializing in before the show proper starts at 8 PM!
You can also find our event information on Facebook and Meetup; check the sidebar for all of our social media and mailing lists. Help us promote Nerd Nite by signing up on our event listings and sharing our social media posts!
